Aberdeen Dental – Britton Branch
Comstock Construction renovated 2,288 square feet of existing space within Marshall County Healthcare Center in Britton, South Dakota, transforming a former assisted living area into a new dental office for Aberdeen Dental.
The renovation gives Aberdeen Dental a modern, purpose-built space for its Britton branch while helping bring local dental care back to the community after five years without a dentist in town.
Converting Existing Space into a Dental Office
Turning a space designed for assisted living into a dental practice required a complete interior transformation. The existing space was demolished and reconfigured to accommodate the layout, infrastructure and finishes needed for a modern dental office.
The completed 2,288 SF space includes:
- Four dental treatment areas
- Reception office
- Waiting area
- Lab space
- Sterilization area
By renovating available space within Marshall County Healthcare Center, the project was able to give an existing part of the facility a new purpose while creating a dedicated space for dental care.
Self-Performed Construction
Our crews self-performed a large portion of the renovation, allowing us to stay closely involved throughout the project and maintain control over scheduling, coordination and quality.
Comstock Construction self-performed:
- Demolition
- Framing
- Insulation
- Sheetrock installation
- Cabinet and trim installation
- Flooring
- Dental chair installation
Having our own crews handle multiple scopes also helped simplify coordination as the space moved from demolition through finishes and equipment installation.
Bringing Dental Care Back to Britton
The biggest impact of this project goes beyond the renovation itself. Britton had been without a local dentist for approximately five years, requiring residents to travel to surrounding communities for dental appointments.
Aberdeen Dental’s new Britton branch brings that care back closer to home. Located within the Marshall County Healthcare Center campus, the new office provides a long-term space for local dental services and adds another healthcare resource for Britton and the surrounding rural area.
For us, it’s a great example of what renovation work can accomplish: taking an existing space, giving it an entirely new purpose and helping make an important service more accessible to the community.
