PioneerCare Center Addition and Remodel — Fergus Falls, MN

Enhancing Senior Living Spaces with Comfort and Functionality

Comstock Construction partnered with Nelson Tremain Partnership, P.A. to complete the PioneerCare Center addition and remodel in Fergus Falls, Minnesota. This project focused on improving resident comfort, privacy, and accessibility through a blend of thoughtful design and precise construction.

Second-Story Addition and Interior Renovations

The project included a 1,100-square-foot second-story addition, providing new office and storage space to support staff operations. Inside the existing facility, extensive remodeling transformed underutilized areas into purposeful, resident-centered spaces:

Converted storage space into a warm and welcoming visitation room
Remodeled former offices into a spacious resident activity room
Upgraded the Treetop Conference Room, replacing open railing with a full glass wall overlooking the scenic water feature

These improvements brought both function and aesthetic enhancements to the PioneerCare campus.

Private Bedrooms and Accessibility Upgrades

A key component of the PioneerCare Center addition and remodel was reconfiguring shared living spaces to promote privacy and dignity for residents. Our team converted eight shared bedrooms into sixteen private nursing home suites, each with a newly added adjoining bathroom. This transformation elevated the quality of care, ensuring that every resident enjoys a private, comfortable living space.

Self-Performed Construction for Superior Quality

Comstock Construction self-performed multiple scopes of work to maintain strict quality and schedule control, including:

Demolition
Exterior concrete
Structural steel and metal deck installation
Wood framing and finish carpentry
Shingle patching
Door and hardware installation
Toilet accessories

By handling these trades in-house, our team delivered consistent craftsmanship and seamless coordination throughout the renovation.
