Comstock Construction Opens First South Dakota Office

On September 8, 2026, we officially celebrated the opening of Comstock Construction’s new office in Aberdeen, South Dakota.

It was a meaningful day for our team. The Aberdeen location is our first office in South Dakota and our first new branch since our Fargo office opened in 2005.

While Comstock has been working throughout South Dakota for decades, having a home base in Aberdeen gives us the chance to be closer to the people, businesses and communities we serve — and to become more deeply involved in the area over time.

Why Aberdeen?

For us, opening an office in Aberdeen is about more than growth.

Construction is built on relationships, and some of the strongest ones come from simply being present — knowing the community, understanding local businesses and being someone people can call when they need help.

Aberdeen gives us the opportunity to do more of that in South Dakota.

Our hope is to build trust the same way we have in the communities we’ve called home for years: by showing up, listening, doing good work and taking care of people along the way.

We’re grateful for the warm welcome we’ve already received and excited to keep getting to know the Aberdeen community.

A Local Team in Aberdeen

Our Aberdeen office opened with Business Development Representative Corey Sauerwein and Service Project Manager Jon Buchele.

Both having been born and raised in Aberdeen, they bring decades of construction experience along with a strong connection to the community and a vested interest for the betterment of the area they themselves and their families, friends, and relatives live and work.

Together, Corey and Jon give local businesses a nearby connection to the larger Comstock team for commercial construction projects, renovations, repairs and ongoing facility service.

Making the Space Our Own

Before opening the doors, we had a construction project of our own to tackle.

Our team remodeled the Aberdeen office to create a comfortable, functional home base for our local staff, a place to meet with clients and partners and room to continue growing in the years ahead.

It was fun to be our own client for once and put the same practical problem-solving we bring to other renovation projects into a space our own team now gets to use every day.

Celebrating With the Aberdeen Community

To officially mark the opening, we welcomed the Aberdeen Area Chamber of Commerce and members of the local business community to join us.

Corey kicked things off by sharing a little more about Comstock, why Aberdeen was the right next step for our company and what we hope to bring to the area. We followed that with introductions and a Q&A before making things official with the Chamber ribbon cutting.

Afterward, we opened the office for tours, homemade chocolate chip cookies, lemonade, coffee and plenty of conversation.

We’re thankful to everyone who took the time to stop by, introduce themselves, ask questions and welcome us to the community. For a company that has always grown through relationships, that kind of support means a lot.

A New Chapter for Comstock Construction

Comstock Construction started in Wahpeton, North Dakota, in 1924. We later expanded to Fergus Falls, Minnesota, in 2000 and Fargo, North Dakota, in 2005.

Twenty-one years later, Aberdeen becomes our fourth office location and our first in South Dakota.

We’re proud of the milestone, but even more thankful for the people who helped us get here — our employees, clients, partners and the communities that have trusted us over the years.

We’re excited to now call Aberdeen home, too, and look forward to building relationships here for many years to come.
